Installing heat pumps

If you’re thinking of changing your boiler, it might be worth considering installing heat pumps.

In Salford, the majority of homes are heated by gas. Switching to electricity is a greener solution as electricity has lower carbon emissions.

Heat pumps, which are popular in other countries, are the most efficient way to generate heat from electricity. A heat pump takes heat at a low temperature from the air or ground, increases that heat to a higher temperature and transfers it into your home to provide heating and hot water.

They have a high upfront cost, but you’ll save on your energy bills over the coming years.

They aren’t suitable for some homes, such as those with poor insulation, so you’d need to do some careful research.
