Greener inhalers

The NHS in Salford is asking people who use an inhaler to consider switching to a greener version.

Standard inhalers contain hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs), which are powerful greenhouse gases. Switching from this type of gas-propelled inhaler to a dry powder inhaler helps relieve symptoms at least as well as alternatives, but the carbon footprint is less than 1kg of carbon dioxide equivalent per device, compared to up to 28kg.

You can find more information on the Greater Manchester Integrated Care Partnership website.
