Salford City Council have teamed up with Manchester Bikes to offer individuals and businesses the chance to hire a cargo bike to see if it can help improve their business or help with their transport.

The cargo bikes come in all shapes and sizes and Manchester Bikes offer a free consultation to help the business pick the right bike for their business needs.  The cargo bikes all have electric motors so there’s no need to pedal and free training is provided to get used to riding the bikes.

Transport costs for businesses can cost business 20% of the total running cost of a business. With rising costs in fuels, van hire, delays from congestion many businesses find that transporting small goods relatively short distances is being more costly.

Manchester bikes have recently worked with the RHS to provide 18 cargo bikes across their five English sites to help with transportation within the site. They have also worked with DHL, Manchester International Festival and many more organisations to help make the switch to greener deliveries.

The bikes are available for short or longer term hire, and can even be ordered and branded with the business’ branding to give them a bespoke feel.

Manchester Bikes, based on Chapel Street in Salford have been operating for over 10 years and have a great knowledge of all things bike related as well as new developments in the cargo bike market.

For more information on Manchester Bikes’ range of cargo bikes or to book an appoint head over to their website which more details of the bikes available and how you can make the switch.
